2024 Subaru Legacy

As 2024 marks the last year of the current generation of this model, and it was comprehensively refreshed in 2023, there are no changes to the 2024 model. The Legacy has been released on only one trim in Canada, the GT.

Price

The Subaru GT has an MSRP of $45,885, which includes freight and fees but excludes taxes, with only one trim available at this point.

Performance

The Subaru Legacy is a four-door sedan, but this vehicle is not a dreary drive. Thanks to the all-wheel-drive technology, the car has excellent road manners and precise steering in all road conditions.

The GT is fitted with a horizontally opposed Subaru Boxer engine. The engine is a 2.4-litre Turbocharged Direct Injection motor making 260 horsepower and 277 lb-ft torque at 2,000-4,800 rpm. This motor is coupled to a continuously variable automatic transmission and has all-wheel drive as standard.

Fuel consumption is suitable for an all-wheel-drive vehicle. The Legacy should give fuel consumption figures of 10.1 L/100km for city driving and 7.5 L/100km on the highway.

Interior and Exterior Features

The 2024 Subaru Legacy is designed to stand out in the mid-size sedan class, where most vehicles have a similar look and stance. It has a sporty design and a lower and broader bearing accentuating the vehicle's sporty feel.

The hawk-eye LED headlights, bold front grille, and defined character lines give the vehicle a balanced and sleek look. There is a choice of six exterior colours, all of which add to the elegance of this vehicle.

The headlights are designed with safety in mind. In automatic mode, they will automatically turn on in low-light conditions and will automatically dim for oncoming traffic. The LED headlights also follow the steering to assist with cornering. Adding to the lighting on the Legacy are LED fog lights that will brighten the murkiest of conditions.

The Legacy stands on sleek, painted alloy wheels. The design of these 45,7 cm wheels gives the car its exceptional stance, and the lightweight construction means high-performance levels with the same excellent ride quality.

The cabin is spacious, with excellent shoulder room for passengers and increased leg room in the rear. The rear seats have a 60/40 split and fold flatter for better cargo-carrying capacity.

Driver and passenger comfort is handled with heated front and rear seats trimmed in black Nappa leather and ventilated front seats. The steering wheel is also heated.

The Legacy is aimed at families and comes with 428 litres (maximum) of cargo space.

Technology

The infotainment system runs on a 29,4 cm tablet-style touchscreen with Bluetooth® mobile phone connectivity. Sound is provided by a Harman Kardon® audio system with SiriusXM integration (Subaru includes a three-month trial subscription). Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are also standard features.

The infotainment system comes equipped with GPS and What3words navigation systems.

Safety

The Legacy has been one of the IIHS Top Safety Picks for more than 17 years and has consistently earned a five-star safety rating.

The 2024 Legacy comes packed with a wide range of safety features.  This vehicle is equipped with the latest EyeSight Driver Assist technology, which has a wide-angle camera, upgraded software, and an electric brake booster. This system works with the standard dual camera on the Eyesight system to widen the field of view. It can recognize cyclists and pedestrians, warning the driver and applying the brakes if need be.

Eyesight also includes Automatic Emergency Steering capability designed to work with the Pre-Collision Braking System to avoid low-speed accidents at speeds less than 80 km/hr.

The Legacy comes with a full suite of active safety technology that works in conjunction with the Eyesight system.
