2021 Subaru Crosstrek and WRX Bags Some More Awards

For some drivers, resale value is not a concern. For others, it is an important piece of knowledge when purchasing a brand-new car. The rate of depreciation is important for everyone to know, especially if the car is totaled unexpectedly when there is still a loan on it. Resale value is also an important piece of knowledge for those who like to trade in their vehicles every few years for something newer. Every year, J.D. Power rates the resale possibility of every vehicle model. Depreciation is an important piece of the scoring puzzle, as it represents how a vehicle will hold its value over time. According to the 2021 J.D. Power Resale Value Awards, two new Subaru vehicles are among the top models in their segment. These are the 2021 Subaru Crosstrek and 2021 Subaru WRX.

2021 Subaru Crosstrek

For 2021, Subaru provided a refresh to the compact crossover Crosstrek. This second-generation subcompact SUV scored second in its segment in terms of resale value--slightly behind the Honda HR-V and ahead of the Volkswagen Tiguan. The 2021 Subaru Crosstrek might be rated highly in terms of resale value, but there is no reason why drivers would ever want to sell it. An athletic exterior decrease, generous interior space, and go-anywhere versatility makes the Crosstrek a unique and bold choice for drivers that want an off-road-ready small SUV.

2021 Subaru WRX

In the compact car segment, the sport-tuned 2021 Subaru WRX also scored segment. It lost out on the top spot to the Honda Civic. The 2021 Subaru WRX is a performance sedan that not only offers Subaru's legendary all-weather/all-rad capability but also some serious motorsport credentials. With aggressive styling and even more aggressive components, the WRX might have slightly lower resale value than the Honda Civic, but in all other ways, it blows the competition out of the water.

Subaru's Resale Value

Not only did the Subaru Crosstrek and Subaru WRX score highly in their respective segments, Subaru was also ranked as the top overall mainstream brand in Kelly Blue Book's (KBB) Best Resale Value Awards. KBB determined that Subaru had the least amount of depreciation for its entire lineup.
