2020 Subaru Crosstrek vs 2020 Mazda CX-30
May 25 2020,
The 2020 Subaru Crosstrek was a pioneer in what has become a very popular segment in Canada, the small SUV segment. The new 2020 Subaru Crosstrek was indeed one of the first sport utility vehicles to be based on a compact sedan with more ground clearance and more interior space. For many, models like the 2020 Crosstrek are the perfect compromise between drivability, agility, fuel economy, and versatility. New models like the Mazda CX-30, however, have arrived to take the Crosstrek’s crown.
The Subaru Crosstrek is based on the newly redesigned Subaru Impreza hatchback while the 2020 Mazda CX-30 is based on the 2020 Mazda3. The difference is that they offer more ground clearance and feature a more rugged overall look. That said, it’s a lot easier to see the differences between the Crosstrek and Impreza than the Mazda CX-30 and the Mazda3.
The 2020 Crosstrek gets standard all-wheel drive as well, something that is only offered as an option in the 2020 Mazda CX-30. More importantly, Subaru’s all-wheel drive system is one of the most recognized in the industry and features the best overall performance in any weather condition. The full-time system makes sure that you always have plenty of traction and grip all around regardless of whether it is snowing, raining or the road is icy.
The 2020 Crosstrek offers this all-weather performance without compromising fuel economy. Indeed, with an average of just 8.8 litres per 100 kilometres in the city and 7.2 litres per 100 kilometres on the highway, the 2020 Subaru Crosstrek is more efficient by about 1.5 litres per 100 kilometres than the Mazda CX-30.
It also has more cargo space with 589 litres of total cargo space compared with less than 500 litres in the 2020 Mazda CX-30.
