2021 Subaru Crosstrek vs. 2021 Kia Seltos: Go Anywhere With the Crosstrek

The Crosstrek steps things up a few notches with a refreshed design and more for 2021. The athletic and rugged exterior design is ready for fun virtually anywhere, and the choice of two powertrains give you the flexibility to meet your driving needs. And don't forget it has Subaru's renowned Symmetrical Full-Time AWD, a ground clearance that is trail-friendly, and versatility that makes it a great vehicle in urban jungles as well.

Here, we compare the 2021 Subaru Crosstrek to the 2021 Kia Seltos.

The 2021 Subaru Crosstrek opens up more roads and trails

The Crosstrek offers great powertrain options. Four models offer a more powerful 2.5-litre four-cylinder engine that outputs 182 horsepower and 176 lb-ft of torque. You can also opt for the 2.0-litre four cylinder in other models that features an impressive fuel consumption rating of 8.5/7.0 L/100 km (city/highway) and 152 horsepower. This is more efficient than any model the Seltos offers.

The Seltos lines up two engine options, but there are disadvantages. The standard powertrain is a 2.0-litre four-cylinder that generates 146 horsepower and 132 lb-ft of torque. Compared to the Crosstrek's engines, this one is the least capable. The Seltos offers the SX Turbo that nearly catches up to the output of the Crosstrek's 2.5-litre, but it is only available in one model.

Overall, the Crosstrek offers more models with a better variety of power, but all models also get the renowned Symmetrical Full-Time AWD, which surpasses every rival in terms of performance on all surfaces.

The 2021 Subaru Crosstrek welcomes friends and family

Another reason why many are driving the Crosstrek is because of its ability to fit friends and lifestyles in a subcompact form. Owners enjoy more front and rear shoulder room than the Seltos. The Crosstrek also features 1399 mm/1401 mm of front/rear hip room, which is more than the Seltos's 1347 mm/1240 mm competing measurements.

It's also easy to access advanced safety features in the Seltos. Several models have EyeSight driver assistance features, including Pre-collision Braking, Pre-collision Brake Assist, Pre-collision Throttle Management, Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Centring Assist, Lane Departure Warning, Lane Sway Warning, Lane Keep Assist and more.
