2020 Subaru Outback Price, Features and Performance

Comfortable, durable, loaded with technology, and exceptionally safe, the all-new 2020 Subaru Outback puts the fun back into driving. Thanks to seven trims - Convenience, Touring, Limited, Premier, Outdoor XT, Limited XT, and Premier XT - and a variety of packages, there's a perfect Outback for every adventure. MSRPs for the 2020 Subaru Outback range from $30,695 for the Convenience trim and gradually increase through the line to $43,795 for Premier XT models. These, of course, are manufacturer's suggested prices and Toronto buyers may enjoy considerable savings depending on current dealer incentives.

Exterior Features

Notable exterior features of this year's Outback include body-color folding side mirrors with integrated turn signals, a power tilt sliding-glass moonroof with ninety-five percent UVA and ninety-nine percent UVB light reducing glass, hidden exhaust, and a roofline rear spoiler. Premier and Premier XT editions add silver painted front and rear under-guards and roof rails with integrated crossbars and tie-down holes.

Interior Features

Thanks to added sound insulation, premium upholstery, and elegant trim throughout, the Outback's recently redesigned interior now offers a quieter and more comfortable driving experience than ever before. A surprising 108.1 cubic feet of interior space and standard 60/40-split flat-folding rear seats means that the 2020 Outback has more than enough room for a picnic at the lake or a trip to the big-box store. An available power tailgate makes loading and unloading a breeze. The Outback's sizeable front floor console, along with underfloor storage, and ample door pockets means that there's always enough space for charging cables, CDs, and even a small tablet.

For entertainment, the base model Convenience trim comes with a dual 7-inch infotainment system featuring a high-resolution touch screen display, an AM/FM/MP3/WMA audio system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, USB port control, an auxiliary audio input, and steering wheel-integrated controls. All other models swap the 7-inch touchscreen for an 11.6-inch tablet-style interface. All 2020 Outbacks come with factory-installed SiriusXM Satellite Radio.

Technology

Regardless of the trim level or package, every 2020 Outback comes standard with Subaru's EyeSight Assist Monitor, Bluetooth connectivity for hands-free calling and music streaming, and an EyeSight LCD Driver Information Centre which displays gear position, dual trip odometers, warning alerts, and other important vehicle information.

Performance

Subaru offers the 2020 Outback with a 2.5L Dual Overhead Cam (DOHC), 16-valve, horizontally opposed, 4-cylinder SUBARU BOXER engine with direct-injection on Convenience, Touring, and Premier trims. All other Outback models come equipped with a turbocharged 16-valve, horizontally opposed, 4-cylinder SUBARU BOXER engine, with direct-injection, and intercooler. Both get linked to Subaru's "Lineartronic CVT" (Continuously Variable Transmission) featuring X-Mode, a lock-up torque converter, and six-speed manual-mode with paddle shifters. The Subaru symmetrical full-time All-Wheel Drive system comes available or standard on most models.

Safety Features

A mix of passive and active standard safety features make the 2020 Subaru Outback one of the safest vehicles on the road today. All trims come standard with Subaru's EyeSight suite of advanced safety features which includes Pre-collision Braking, Pre-collision Brake Assist, Pre-collision Throttle Management, Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Centring Assist, Lane Departure Warning, Lane Sway Warning, Lead Vehicle Start Alert, and Lane Keep Assist. All but the base Convenience model also come with Reverse Automatic Braking and Subaru's Rear/Side Vehicle Detection System with Blind Spot Detection, Lane Change Assist, and Rear Cross Traffic Alert systems.
